When Art Supports Something Bigger
I've had the privilege of contributing original artwork and participating in events supporting organizations that do important work in our communities.
Whether through Thompson's charitable events, Habitat for Humanity's Art for Humanity auction, or supporting Good Shepherd, each opportunity has given my artwork a purpose beyond what I originally created it for.
When someone purchases a painting, I hope it becomes something they enjoy for years. But when that same painting helps raise funds for an organization dedicated to helping others, it takes on an entirely different meaning.
A piece of artwork becomes more than something to appreciate. It becomes a small part of helping an organization continue its mission.
I don't believe that donating a painting or volunteering for an afternoon changes the world. But I do believe that when enough people contribute what they can, meaningful things happen.
For some, that means financial contributions. For others, it means volunteering their professional skills, organizing events, or simply showing up when help is needed.
For me, it means sharing something I love doing.
