Traditional painting techniques rely on predictable materials and familiar methods. My creative process embraces something entirely different...the unknown.

Many of my paintings incorporate unconventional materials including industrial cleaners, carburetor cleaner, spray paint, and textured compounds. These materials are introduced not simply for novelty, but to explore how they react with acrylic paint, creating textures, movement, and visual depth that conventional techniques cannot produce.

Each experiment carries uncertainty. Some materials subtly soften paint layers, while others push colors apart in dramatic ways. Occasionally, a chemical reacts unexpectedly and forces an entirely new direction for the painting. These moments are not mistakes; they become opportunities for discovery.

This willingness to embrace experimentation ensures that no two paintings can ever be identical. Every reaction is influenced by temperature, drying time, humidity, surface preparation, and the interaction of dozens of layered materials. The final result is a painting shaped as much by controlled craftsmanship as by the fascinating unpredictability of chemistry.

Collectors are often surprised to learn that some of the most compelling visual effects emerge from these chemical interactions. Rather than hiding the process, I celebrate it. Every painting becomes a record of experimentation, curiosity, and discovery. Qualities that continue to inspire each new collection.
